Adoption ladder

Don't just collect prompts.
Roll them out.

A good prompt library dies the same way most enablement does: shared once, used never. Five rungs get a Customer Success team from a link in Slack to a habit that sticks, without a 40-page deck nobody reads.

  1. Pick three, not thirty

Choose the three cards that map to your team's most frequent, highest-stakes job this quarter. If renewals are the pressure, start with the Renewal Risk Brief, the At-Risk Save Play, and the Health Check Summary.

The trapDropping the whole library in a channel and hoping. A kit nobody was pointed at is a bookmark, not a habit.

  2. Run them yourself first

Use your three on real, live accounts for a week before you tell anyone else to. You will find the rough edges yourself, and you will have a real story instead of a pitch.

The trapRecommending prompts you have not pressure-tested. The first colleague who gets a mediocre output stops trusting the whole kit.

  3. Attach it to a ritual, not a memo

Bolt one card onto a meeting your team already runs. The QBR Prep Pack rides QBR prep; the Renewal Risk Brief rides the forecast call. The habit already exists, you are just handing it a better tool.

The trapA one-time "here is a link" in Slack. It scrolls away by Thursday and the kit dies quietly.

  4. Measure the before and after

Pick one concrete thing to watch: time to draft a renewal brief, the share of briefs that actually name a risk, missed renewals per quarter. A baseline turns adoption into evidence.

The trapDeclaring success on vibes. With no before number, you cannot defend the time the team spent, and the next reorg cuts it.

  5. Expand by demand, not decree

Add cards when someone asks "is there one for X." Let the people who got value recruit the next person. Pull beats push for tools, exactly like it does for expansion.

The trapMandating the full kit top-down. A tool people were ordered to use gets the same energy as a compliance training.
